Brianna McInerney - Director

Miss Bri has been passionate about dance for as long as she can remember, with over 25 years of dance experience and more than a decade of teaching under her belt. She completed her full-time dance training in 2018, gaining a strong foundation in technique, performance, and choreography.

Alongside her dance career, Bri spent five years working at Sandringham Primary School as an Integration Aide, supporting children in their early learning journey. She now shares her expertise with the talented students at Sandringham Secondary College’s Dance Academy, helping guide and inspire the next generation of performers.

Bri is a qualified Southern Federation of Dance (SFD) Examiner and holds her SFD Teaching Certificate, allowing her to provide structured and high-quality dance education. Her performance career has included national competitions, an appearance on Australia’s Got Talent, and numerous performances at festivals and stage productions. She has also brought her creative vision to life as a choreographer for events such as the Fringe Festival.

Bri brings her passion, experience, and care into every class she teaches. Through SPARK Performing Arts, she aims to create a welcoming space where every dancer—no matter their age or ability—can build confidence, express themselves, and shine.

NICOLE McInerney - operations manager

Nicole McInerney is a highly experienced and passionate dance educator, holding teaching qualifications through TAAD and an Honours Diploma in both TAAD Tap and ATOD Jazz. With a professional background spanning decades, Nicole has trained and taught extensively in styles including tap, jazz, Cecchetti ballet, and contemporary. She is the founder of Nicole McInerney’s School of Dance, where she inspired dancers with her energy, discipline, and deep love for the artform.

Nicole has enjoyed a vibrant performance career, having featured as a dancer in numerous music videos, including for the iconic Kylie Minogue and Icehouse. On stage, she has performed in major musical theatre productions such as 42nd Street and My One and Only, and held the lead dance role in A Swinging Affair. She also toured Australia with the renowned Pratt family, performing in high-calibre dance shows across the country.

Nicole’s greatest joy has been sharing her love for dance with her daughter, Brianna. Watching her step into her own as a studio owner fills Nicole with immense pride, and she is thrilled to support Brianna in this exciting chapter.

  • Stacey Van Venrooy

    Stacey Van Venrooy

    Classical Teacher

    Stacey Van Venrooy grew up in Gippsland, where she began her dance training at KC’s School of Dance in ballet, contemporary, and jazz. In 2015, she commenced full-time training at The Space Dance and Arts Centre under the direction of Adam Wheeler, graduating with a Diploma of Elite Performance (Dance). During this time, she completed a secondment with Australian Dance Theatre, performed at numerous events and collaborated with various Melbourne-based choreographers.

    In 2016 and 2018, Stacey travelled to Italy to perform at the Mediterranean Dance Festival, where she was awarded a scholarship to further her training overseas. Her performance credits also include YW2’s 2017 season of Pilot, Lion Heart Dance Company’s Envision in 2018, and a guest appearance with the Aston Collective in London later that year. She joined Scimm Dance Company in 2018, performing in its inaugural professional seasons of Senseless State and Aetherium in 2019.

    Alongside her dance career, Stacey holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science, majoring in Exercise Physiology. She is a certified APPI Mat and Reformer Pilates instructor and has worked across various physiotherapy clinics as a Clinical Pilates Instructor and Exercise Scientist. Stacey has also worked at Melbourne Fitness and Performance as an Elite Athletic Development Strength and Conditioning Coach, where she integrates her scientific expertise and movement background to support high-performance athletes.

    Holly Hartley

    Teacher

    Holly Hartley is a passionate and experienced dance teacher with over 15 years of competitive training and more than five years of teaching experience. She has taught Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acrobatics and Hip Hop to students aged 18 months through to adults at Brighton Dance Academy, Beau Rock Ballet School and the Beau Rock Tinies Preschool Program. Holly is currently completing her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management through Transit Dance. She has worked in childcare and volunteered with the Starfish Nippers lifesaving program, where she supported children with disabilities in a safe and inclusive environment. Holly is known for creating a nurturing, high-energy learning space that inspires confidence and growth in every student.

  • Jayde Geleit

    Acrobatics Teacher

    Jayde is a qualified gymnastics coach, accredited through Gymnastics Australia, and brings a wealth of experience to our Acrobatics program at SPARK. She has competed at a national level in the AGC National Competition and has a strong background in both gymnastics and calisthenics. In addition to her acrobatic coaching, Jayde has taught calisthenics and continues to perform and compete with Kallara Calisthenics. She is also a dedicated gymnastics coach at Cheltenham Youth Club. Jayde is passionate about helping students develop strength, flexibility, and confidence through safe and supportive training.

  • Amber Szczygielski

    Teacher

    Amber is a professional dancer with over 15 years of experience across jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, heels, hip hop, and commercial dance. She is Cecchetti Ballet trained from Pre-Primary through Intermediate, achieving Honours in every grade, and is a proud recipient of William Carse acknowledgement awards. Amber also competed in the Ballet Teachers’ Workshop Finals, demonstrating both classical strength and technical artistry.

    With more than a decade of success on the Eisteddfod and competition circuit, Amber has earned multiple championship titles, style aggregates, and prestigious grand aggregate awards in recognition of her versatility and consistency across styles.

    Her advanced training includes work with elite institutions such as SCIMM Dance Company, Radar Technique, Dance Prescription, and The Dance Writer. Currently, Amber is performing with KAOS Entertainment, led by Sophie Blackley and Kate Glouchfis. A recent career highlight includes performing live in Yung Filly’s booth at Alumbra Nightclub.

    Amber’s professional credits also include performing for Katy Perry at the T20 Women’s Cricket World Cup Final, and modelling for high-profile names including Adrian Portellis LMCT and Troy Candys “Gee Up” brand 

    Alongside her performance work, Amber is also a freelance teacher and mentor, driven by her desire to inspire the next generation of dancers and pass on the passion, discipline, and industry knowledge she has gained throughout her journey.

    Darcie McInerney

    Assistant Teacher

    Darcie McInerney has been immersed in the world of dance since the age of two and has grown into a passionate and dedicated dance teacher with several years of experience across a range of styles including ballet, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. She has taught students of all ages and is committed to nurturing both strong technique and a deep love for movement in every dancer she works with.

    A former competitive dancer for over 10 years, Darcie brings a wealth of stage experience and performance knowledge to her teaching. In 2024, she completed her Vocational Education Training (VET) Dance Certificate and is currently studying her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management to further her expertise and leadership within the industry.

    Darcie feels incredibly grateful to share this lifelong passion for dance with her sister, Brianna. She is thrilled for Brianna to embark on this exciting new chapter as a studio head and is committed to helping students grow, shine, and thrive in the studio and beyond.
